Starbucks Via: I Tried It

Good morning!

I’m more a tea girl than a coffee girl. I do love buying lattes, but it is not an at-home treat. But I do crave some french press coffee from time to time. And sometimes I only crave the extra caffeine, which, of course, is at the end of the week.
But when I wake up late or just forget about making tea/coffee, I only have the tea bag option (I usually drink loose leaf tea).

And so I decided to give a shot at Starbucks Via. I didn’t doubt the fact that it would taste like freshly made hot coffee. But I did think freshly made coffee = filter coffee and I have to admit I’m not a fan. But I’m difficult with the kind of coffee used with a french press too ;).
Also, Diran drinks Starbucks’ bold filter coffee and I have to say, I think it is good. Maybe I just drank the wrong filter coffees in the past.

I decided to try the extra bold one to be sure it would not taste like water – I’m used to strong tasting coffees and don’t like mild because I think it tastes like half coffee half water. But that’s just me.

And so I followed the instructions:
1. Pour in packet.

2. Add hot water.
3. Stir…

…And enjoy.

I was surprised.
I won’t lie. French press anniversary blend is better, yummier, tastier.
But I drank the whole thing.

I wasn’t wrong – it tastes more like filter coffee. But it does taste like Starbucks’ good filter coffee ;).
And I have to say I was a little against the concept of instant coffee. Until I made some. It was great to not wait after my coffee while looking at the clock because I have to go ;).

Verdict: It’s a keeper.

P.S. Isn’t this the cutest tumbler ever?

I'm a coffee kinda girl too.

Liking your coffee flask mug. Very cute. May I ask where you got it from?
