The Granola Trap

Good morning!

Breakfast was about 1 cup plain yogurt, 1/2 cup wild blueberries and 2 tbsp granola.

It was so good and easy! Perfect for a work day.

The Granola Diet Trap:
Granola is often referred to as a healthy diet choice. True: oats, nuts, seeds and dried fruit goes for a good choice. But if you end up reading the nutrition facts, you will discover a new truth:
Between 10-20g of sugar for one serving of granola!

Like all cold cereals, granola is made with way too much sugar to be a real healthy choice. This doesn’t mean that you have to stop eating it: just read the labels and try to find one kind with less sugar.

I did… and I found this:

This Granola is made in Quebec, so it probably isn’t available everywhere else. I read ALL the granola labels in the supermarket and this was the best one… with still 7g of sugar for 1/2 cup.

For a 2tbsp serving, it is not the end of the world. And I really don’t eat it often. But if you are a granola addict, consider making your own!

Have a great day!

Man- I ran into that problem the other day! It's ridiculous how much sugar can be in granola.
