White Chocolate & Orange Fondue

Valentine’s Day was “celebrated” yesterday in my little apartment. And I wanted to make a great meal for Diran and I. It took me a long time to finally find what to make us for dessert (Valentine’s day is just an excuse for great desserts). I thought about white chocolate strawberry fondue but strawberries are definitely not and season.

I really wanted to make white chocolate orange fondue but Valentine’s day calls for a pink dessert ;-). I finally knew what to make on Friday, one day before our dinner; use blood oranges!
Of course, you can also use regular oranges :-).

White Chocolate & Orange Fondue

Print recipe

Ingredients:

  • 1/3 cup 15% country cream
  • Zest of 1/2 orange (finely grated)
  • Juice of 1/2 orange
  • 50 g white chocolate, coarsely chopped
  • Fresh fruit

Directions: Prepare fruit by cutting in cubes and placing on a plate.
In a small saucepan, heat cream, orange zest and orange juice over medium-low heat, stirring continuously with a spatula. When it starts to bubble on the edges, add white chocolate and stir until melted. Transfer to a chocolate fondue pot. Eat immediately.

Serves 3-4

This fondue was incredible! The white chocolate makes it very sweet and the orange gives a great, subtle flavor. It is very liquid, which is perfect since it gives just the right amount of sweetness to the dipped fruits. Definitely something I want to make again!

Mmm, this sounds like such a unique fondue. I love your flavor combination. I have a sweet treat linky party that's going on at my blog until Monday evening and I'd like to invite you to stop by and link your fondue up. http://sweet-as-sugar-cookies.blogspot.com/2011/02/sweets-for-saturday-4.html
