Today’s breakfast was two rhubarb and cranberry muffins and 1/2 serving of banana soft serve.
I was really craving some soft serve… it’s been so long since I had some!
I also had some green tea.
I drink tea every day, but I mostly bring it with me when leaving for school (morning or afternoon). At night, I drink herbal tea to avoid being up all night because of the caffeine – and I did stay up all night because of tea once!
The Benefits of Green Tea:
Green tea is full of antioxidants. The steaming process used to make green tea preserves the antioxidants in the leaves, which is not the case of the fermentation used to make black tea. These antioxidants are very powerful:
- Prevention of cancer – the antioxidants not only prevent the growth of cancerous cells, they also kill them while preserving the healthy ones.
- High cholesterol – the antioxidants lower “bad” cholesterol levels.
- Cardiovascular diseases: the antioxidants prevents the formation of blood clots.
- Infections and food poisoning: green tea can destroy bacteria, which can prevent infections, food poisoning and even dental plaque!
Green tea can also help in losing weight, and not only because of the caffeine it contains! In a study, it was found that the combination of caffeine and green tea was more effective than caffeine by itself.
Green tea can also help you stay hydrated! But don’t drink too much at night. Even though there is less caffeine in green tea than in black tea or coffee, its effects can make it hard for you to sleep!
I have to go give out a homework and study before my class at 1 pm.
See you tonight,
